Windermere Adventure Challenge Nepal - March 2012
In March 2012, 16 Intrepid Travellers head to the spectacular highlands of Nepal. Each participant fundraised over $7,500 for Windermere Child & Family Services and in return they got the chance to tick this wonderful experience off their 'bucket list', while giving something of real value back to their community.
13 day experience, 7-day trek, including 2 community projects and lifetime of memories.
The Windermere Adventure Challenge was their opportunity to trek Nepal with a small group of community-minded people, while raising funds to help Windermere Child & Family Services continue its vital work.
Each participant something back to the people of Nepal too. Before embarking on their 7-day trek they had the opportunity to spend a day at a very special organisation working to prevent the illegal trafficking of Nepali women and girls, as well as visiting a number of schools in villages along the trek.
For more than 150 years, Windermere has been providing vital services to children, families and individuals in Melbourne's South East who are dealing with major issues such as abuse, neglect, disabilities, homelessness and the aftermath of violent crime.
Demand for our services keeps growing with 150 new families moving to the area each week. By joining our Adventure Challenge you are helping us to continue helping those in need.
