There is nothing more pure than a delighted child’s face on Christmas Day.

For many families, Christmas is a time to gather, celebrate, share a meal and exchange gifts.

But many families, especially those experiencing extreme disadvantage and trauma, are struggling to put food on the table and gifts under the tree.

Merry Mission aims to bring real joy and happiness to the children and families in our community who receive services and support from us.

Many have experienced extreme disadvantage, trauma, and vulnerability, and are unable to afford food and necessities, let alone Christmas gifts.

Ways to give

Purchase a gift or hamper online and we will provide a family with a digital voucher to purchase the food products and gifts that best suit their child or family needs.

Alternatively, a tax-deductible donation can help us to continue to provide our life-changing services to many more families in 2022.

The difference you make

For over 10 years our Merry Mission Appeal has assisted more than 5,000 local families and children who, through no fault of their own, struggle during the festive season.

Support families like Stephanie’s

Stephanie* tried to extricate herself and her children from an extremely abusive and controlling relationship. Facing horrific violence, poverty and hunger she tried to protect her two young children; Caroline (10) and Luis (6) from harm.

Thanks to her determination and with our support, this Christmas they are safe and slowly rebuilding their lives.

She recalls her children’s pure joy when Dorothy arrived at Christmas time with hampers of food and Christmas presents for the family.

“We’d been living hand to mouth for so long when she bought us food and toys. When you’ve been through long periods of being deprived, it‘s indescribable to have something again. It made the kids so happy.”
