Give a hamper to a family this Christmas

Why give?

For many families in our community, the stress of putting food on the table takes much of the joy out of Christmas. You can help reduce that stress by donating a food hamper to families in need.

Thanks to our community, we have donated over 4000 hampers since Merry Mission began over 10 years ago. This year we aim to provide over 500 digital hampers to families in need.

As we find ourselves still impacted by COVID-19 in 2021, we have decided to replace physical hampers with digital vouchers. This ensures we maintain the personal touch of giving a Christmas hamper while limiting to risk of COVID-19 exposure for our families, volunteers and staff.

How does it work?

When you donate a hamper, we will provide a family with an online voucher for a supermarket. This provide families with choice to purchase the food products that best suit their needs.

We will suggest the following hamper items to families:

Carton of long life milk
Bottle of juice
Box of cereal
Tin of vegetables
Packet of rice, pasta or noodles
Tin of tuna
Jar of pasta sauce
1-2 yummy sweets (chocolate or biscuits)
Hand sanitiser
Festive items (bon-bons, wrapping paper, sticky tape, Christmas pudding)
