Speech & Language Therapy

Our speech pathologists work with you and your child to develop their speech and language skills in order to maximise your child’s communication and active participation in life.

We provide service to children and youth aged 0 – 12 years who may have delays or difficulties with their communication and development including speech language  and social skills.

We deliver evidence informed intervention strategies, standardised assessments, report writing, funding applications and parent training to support your child in reaching their potential.

We can help your child with:

  • Early communication development –we support your child to interpret actions, sounds and behaviours during routines and play so they can move to the next stage of their communication development. You may find this useful if your child is not using any meaningful words or you are having trouble understanding their sounds or actions.
  • Language development  - if we can support your child if they are experiencing difficulties understanding language or the way they can express themselves. You may find this useful if your child does not follow instructions well or has trouble joining words together in sentences.
  • Speech and pronunciation (articulation) –we can support your child if they are difficult to understand when they speak.  . You may also find this useful if your child is leaving out specific sounds or substituting sounds.
  • Feeding and swallowing difficulties – we can help ensure mealtimes are a positive and safe experience. You may find this useful if your child has difficulty managing certain food textures.
  • Social communication – we can help enable your child to develop their skills in interacting with others. You may find this useful if your child struggles to make friends, understand social rules or keep themselves safe in the community.
  • Fluency – this may be useful if your child stutters when speaking.

We have speech pathologists trained in evidence-based programs like:

  • Hanen It Takes Two To Talk
  • Hanen More Than Words
  • SOS Feeding Program and
  • Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS).

As a result, we can provide specialist support for children with complex communication needs, including Childhood Apraxia of Speech and Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) technology and techniques.

Our speech pathologists are based in Southern Victoria and West Gippsland regions. We have offices at Berwick, Narre Warren, Cranbourne, Pakenham and Warragul. We can also work with you and your child at your home, school or pre-school.
