“My plan manager has been my backbone.”
Over five years ago, Kerry began her NDIS journey for her daughter Charly who has downs syndrome and low vision. Navigating the NDIS was challenging and Kerry was anxious to ensure Charly continued to have the support she needs. When Kerry signed up for Windermere plan management, she could finally find the answers she needed from her plan manager.
As a busy single mum, it was important for Kerry to have all the supports in place for Charly who needed both occupational therapy and speech therapy. Accessing supports using NDIS funds required maintaining complete records of supports and processing invoices quickly and accurately.
Charly’s plan manager Olga, organises payments to providers within 2-3 business days, helps Kerry keep track of NDIS funds and spending, and provides monthly statements. These are among a range of financial administration tasks that Kerry no longer has to worry about.
“The fact that it's all professional and organised just makes it easier for me as a mum,” she adds.
For Kerry, it’s more than having the hassle of paperwork taken out of her hands. She could finally turn to someone she could rely on to understand the NDIS and find the answers she needed.
“When my daughter first started her NDIS plan, it was so very stressful to the point I was in tears. I couldn’t find the right guidance and I wasn’t getting the correct information,” says Kerry.
That was until Kerry signed up with Windermere Plan Management. She found she could always reach out to her plan manager to resolve any questions and doubts.
While helping Kerri understand the dos and don’ts of NDIS, Olga also ensures funds are allocated appropriately and managed effectively, and providers are charging in line with the NDIS Price Guide. This expertise helps maximise Charly’s NDIS funding and manage any risks of overspending.
“She updates me on how we are travelling financially, and if there’s anything that we need to keep an eye on we discuss ways we can manage that like cutting back an hour of support or avoiding public holidays as the rates are higher. She’s like a teaching tool for me,” she adds.
One of the main benefits Windermere plan management offers is a dedicated plan manager who understands an individual's ongoing needs. While Kerry knows she has a trusted and reliable source of support, she also values that her plan manager checks in periodically.
Having someone who understand her specific needs means Kerry also received advice and insight that are far reaching.
“Charly has a three-year plan period that is up for renewal in 2027, and my plan manager is already thinking ahead. As I am getting older and I have an elderly mother that I look after as well, she suggested we get in early with an OT assessment – she’s brilliant that way. These are things I didn’t know.”
