Have you experienced trauma or loss as a result of the January 2026 bushfires in Victoria?

The Bushfire Recovery Support program is available for people directly impacted by the January 2026 bushfires in Victoria.

When you are impacted, it can be hard to know what to do next. A range of support is available, based on your or your family’s needs.

Our enhanced intake team can guide you through available supports based on your individual needs, including:

  • finding local support services 
  • insurance and legal questions
  • financial pressures
  • health and wellbeing support
  • registering for government services.

Emergency Relief Payments may be available to help cover immediate essentials like food, clothing, medication and accommodation. You may also be eligible for Re-establishment Assistance if your home was damaged or destroyed and you have limited financial or insurance support. This assistance can help with clean-up, temporary accommodation, repairs, rebuilding and replacing essential household items. Support options are updated regularly.

This service is funded by the Department of Families, Fairness and Housing (DFFH) and the Commonwealth-State Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements (DRFA) and is provided to you free of charge.
